Reed Switch

Reed Switch

The reed switch is an electrical switch operated by an applied magnetic field. It consists of a pair of contacts on ferromagnetic metal reeds in a hermetically sealed glass envelope. The contacts may be normally open, closing when a magnetic field is present, or normally closed and opening when a magnetic field is applied.
Application principle:

The liquid level sensor is composed of a reed switch and a float. The float ball has magnetic material. One or more reed switches are arranged in the closed tube, and then the tube is passed through one or more floats with magnetic materials, and the utility model utilizes the card slot controls the float and the reed switch at the relevant position, and the float rises or falls with the liquid, and the magnet in the float is used to drive the contact at the beginning of the reed to generate an opening and closing action for liquid level control or indication (when floating ball is close to the reed, switch is turned on; the switch is off when leaving).
Liquid level sensors are widely used in liquid level monitoring, liquid level measurement, liquid container monitoring for household appliances, automobiles, and industrial equipment.

The proximity sensor is formed by a reed switch connected by a lead wire. When the magnetic object approaches, it causes a switch action and is used as a position sensor. The small size, small inertia and fast action are the characteristics of the magnetic reed switch.
It’s widely used in fitness equipment, automobiles, industrial equipment, agricultural equipment, household appliances, etc.
